Block Party Book Sale Success & Upcoming June Book Sale…

Our next book sale will be June 21 and 22, 2013 in the Atrium of the Ocean City Free Public Library.

MAY 4—BLOCK PARTY BOOK SALE…

At times, it seems the only and often overused word to describe a sunny day is gorgeous. It was, however, such a day this past SaturdaElainey. The Ocean City Spring Block Party was spared the high winds and cold temperatures of the previous days and so the beautiful weather was a great backdrop for the Friends and Volunteers of the Ocean City Free Public Library book sale. Patrons perused and purchased 200 of the almost new books, CDs, and DVDs. An added benefit of the sun was the opportunity for discussion about and reactions between/among the patrons and F&Vs to some of the books.

DiscussThe weather may have helped make Saturday a great Block Party day, but it was an even greater day for all those discussers, readers, and purchasers.

Ocean City hosts two Asbury Avenue Block Parties each year. Thousands of people, residents and visitors, come to the events and one of the highlights for many is the array of new, exciting and popular books made available by the Friends and Volunteers of the Ocean City Free Public Library. Friends’ volunteers find these treasures among the donations and transport, set up and sell them at each Block Party.

Look for the Friends and Volunteers of the Ocean City Free Public Library book sale table in front of City Hall—9th and Asbury Avenue.
