Several times a year, the Friends and Volunteers (F&Vs) hold a sale of donated books in the Ocean City Free Public Library Atrium at the Community Center. Throughout the year, members work on a weekly rotation checking and sorting the books in preparation of each sale—including those at the City’s Block Parties. During the book sales, members volunteer to collect the money, keep the tables supplied with books, help the patrons locate what they want, answer questions, etc. Book sales constitute the major source of funds for the group’s projects and donations.
Gently Used Books Needed…
The Friends and Volunteers of the Ocean City Free Public Library seek donations of gently used books. We respectfully request no water, nor storm damaged books, no magazines, and no textbooks.

Book Room Committee
The Book Room Committee oversees the handling of items donated to the library. Materials donated by community members are cleaned, sorted, stored, priced and organized for book sales, Dollar Cart sales, Block Party events and Better World Book submissions. Volunteers on the committee are scheduled several times each year for a week to scan or sort the donations. The income generated by the sale of the donated items funds the community programs sponsored by the Friends and Volunteers.
