The Friends and Volunteers sponsored a writing workshop at the Intermediate School. Author, Anica Mrose Rissi, enjoyed talking with students about books and writing. Her interactive program exposed them to ways to become better writers. This is one of the activities the F & V does to encourage literacy in our community.

As in past years, the Friends & Volunteers are helping to start the year off right for Ocean City Primary School students. On September 5th, each kindergartner will be given a bag to encourage the love of reading, writing, and drawing. This is just one of the many projects the Friends & Volunteers provide for our community to foster and support literacy.

Participants preparing bags for the kindergartners were F & Vmembers Lois Denner, Betty Gillen, Robin Miller, Kathy Owens, Linda Robie, Cathy Shilling, and Kathleen Woodring.
